Product Description

The Eco-Flip offers a stylish eco-leather folio that helps protect your iPad. A unique and innovative hand strap design allows you to fold back the cover and securely grip the device during usage – a feature not offered in other cases or covers. The Eco-Flip flips open at the top, and the elastic strap keeps the folio closed while the foldover tab inside helps keep the iPad from slipping out. A foldaway display stand round out a broad array of features provided in a single case solution. What's so great about eco-leather? The tanning process used to make this leather uses less toxins than traditional leather tanning. This minimizes toxic runoff into the ground and water tables. Throughout the entire process, the leather remains RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. No chlorine, no sulfuric acid, and no petroleum/chemical based dyes. This is real leather, without the environmental impact of standard tanning and dying processes.

"worth the price" 2010-09-07

The case suits the iPad very well, however it add a little weight to it. The leather is thick and the kick stand works good for typing.

"Like a prom date, it's great at the beginning, but...." 2010-09-03

To its credit, this is a VERY protective case. The leather feels great.

The problems: the case will wear out fast. The leather trim on the inside peels off the rubberish framing, the tension flap that is supposed to hold the iPad in place wears thin, losing its friction and therefore losing the hold on the iPad. The elastic band - a GREAT idea - wears out and the seams tear from the stitching to the cover... and all of this happens in two months. The leather restraints stretch out a lot and the ipad wobbles greatly after just a few weeks. But out of the box, this was the best case I came across.

I paid $45 to buy this straight from Marware. It was useless after two months of moderate use. That means this case costs about the same as the 2GB data plan for the iPad. A case that cost almost $50 ought to last a year.

So just like I did with prom's Jenny Slater, I moved on pretty fast once I saw how high-maintenance and drama-filled it was going to be.

I still haven't found "the" iPad case, but I am hopeful and will keep trying.

"Rugged and neat" 2010-08-16
By Spero P. Tsindos (Melbourne, Australia)
I like this case as it has a certain robustness, but still looks good. It is a bit bulky when you take into account the thickness of the iPad, but still it's been very useful for travelling and protects the iPad well.

"Poor long term quality" 2010-08-09
By Lorinda Creel (Columbia, South Carolina United States)
Great at first use. But long tern the case stretches and iPad can slide around and come out from the top. So save your money and buy something cheaper with similar quality. Lasted about four months.
