"IPad Dock" 2010-08-24
By Bobby Baker
I received the Ipad dock only 4 days after purchasing so I give the company 5 Stars. I like the dock, however when the ipad is connected to the Dock you have to have Speakers to listen to it; which is not included nor was instructed to purchased. And of course you cannot lay it lanscape to watch video. But if your just needing it to play music (speakers sold seperatly) or view slideshow of photographs it's a good product.

"Device not what I needed but service exceptional" 2010-08-19
By Hans A Wiggers (Saratoga, Ca United States)
I was hoping to get a device that would provide a USB access to the iPad. The device does not supply that I found out. They gave me a return and refund with no problems. They even refunded the shipping costs to Canada. I would definitely do business with them again

"FUNCTIONAL BUT POORLY DESIGNED" 2010-07-16
By Nick (NH, USA)
Pros: You can dock your iPad on it and either charge it or connect it to your computer.

Cons: It's neither ergonomic nor safe. Undocking the iPad poses a problem because, unlike with the iPhone or iPod Touch dock, there's no convenient horizontal area on the front of it to hold it down with one hand while you lift the iPad off with the other. You either have to reach around back and hold it down there, or try to slip your finger under and into the little ledge on the front while avoiding scratching the screen if you have fingernails. As far as safety is concerned, I think it really needs to be heavier or have a wider footprint because it wobbles too much when you bump the iPad and I'd prefer it be more stable. It might be best to glue it down to your desk or table once you decide where you're going to keep it. Once it's glued into place, then both of these design problems would be solved. Finally, be careful when you're opening the box. Apple sealed the box lid with a piece of hard plastic designed to hang the box on a shelf in a store display. The only way to break that seal is to cut it with a knife, and you run the risk of scratching the dock when you do that. Instead, open the box from the bottom. I absolutely hate it when product packaging is so ornery that you end up either injuring yourself or damaging the product just trying to get it open.

"Little dock that does it all" 2010-07-15
By Skye (San Ramon, CA United States)
I was surprised by the size of this product - less than 3 inches square.
Originally I was planning to use it for charging but have since realized that it has so many other uses.

As noted in other reviews, the unit is designed to be mesh exactly with the iPad unit itself. A cover gets in the way. To resolve this problem, I used a sharp scissors to cut out a 1" x 3" rectangle shaped piece from the back of the Apple cover where the dock meets the iPad. The modified cover works just as well as it did before but allows the dock to connect.

Another problem is that when installed in the dock, the iPad can tip sideways if it gets bumped. I wish the dock had been made a couple inches wider to provide a more stable base.

I actually bought 2 of these docks: one for charging/syncing and other for media access. By leaving the dock attached to my TV and sound system I can just drop the iPad in the base unit and watch my iPad videos.
