"Ipad freedom" 2010-09-08
By Hank Quense (Bergenfield, NJ USA)
I bought an Ipad in June and have had a chance to use it extensively since then. My evaluation? An outstanding device. I use it in three principle areas; a book reader, entertainment i.e. games and for work. I'll talk about each in turn.

As a book reader. Very easy to use and easy to read. I downloaded the Kindle and Barnes and Noble apps so I have access to three separate bookstores and can download books from all of them. The Ipad thus is much more flexible than dedicated readers that allow access to only a single bookstore.

As a game machine. If my grandkids are around, I can't use my Ipad because they are queued up to get a turn. I have apps that the three-year-old can use, the four-year-old can use and other apps the older ones can use. The amazing thing about the younger ones, is that the apps are educational and they love use them. I enjoy the apps the older kids use, namely Doodle Jump, Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies

For work. This is where the Ipad really shines. I'm an author. I spend hours each day chained to my computer in my office writing stores or revising them.

In addition to writing/ revising stories, there are other business aspects of writing. A brief list includes creating new characters and plots, writing blogs, marketing work, email responses etc. In the past I had to stay at the computer or use a pad and pen if I worked away from the computer. Now I use the Ipad and I'm freed from the desk and computer. It makes writing and creation a pleasure. I'm writing this review while sitting in a recliner in the TV room. Earlier, I worked on a different writing project outside on the porch.

Overall, I have to say that the Ipad changed my work habits and improved them. It fitted almost seamlessly into my work. How seamlessly, is amazing, but then I'm an Apple fanatic and I expected nothing less from the Ipad. To be clear, the Ipad doesn't replace my computer; it is an adjunct to that computer, but one that gives me a large measure of freedom.

As you might suspect, I give the Ipad five stars out of a possible five. With the Ipad, my Iphone has been downgraded to a cell phone, for the most part.

"Surprisingly useful and convenient" 2010-09-05
By SteamaZon
The PAD fills that nebulious space between a notebook and a smartphone. Smartphones offer the ultimate in portability plus a camera and the ability to place calls. Notebooks offer a reasonable amount of computing power plus an expectation of portability especially in the 13 to 15" screen size areas.

However, smart phones are very difficult to use because the screens ARE so small. Web browsing , reading and responding to email are a chore. Notebooks provide all the functionality of desktops except expandability and usually video cards required by high end games are lacking. But even though they are transportable, for many simple functions that such as email and web browsing, they can be cumbersome to set up and take down. Any larger screen size than 15" and its unlikely it will leave home. The cost of laptops has fallen considerably over the years and from being primarily a business tool, laptop owners use the machine as their primary computer for personal use. The laptop is unobtrusive, can be moved from room to room especially if wireless internet is available, and does not have the dearth of cords and junk that seems to easily collect around an embedded laptop. Still, in spite of its portability, many people would just rather leave the laptop behind if their travels do not require work specific needs.

Sensing a need for an email machine, web browser and the ability to run regular programs should the need arise, the computer industry introduced the low cost NETBOOK. There was certainly some interest in these machines as they allowed a very convenient way of checking email and web browsing while traveling around town without the bulk of a laptop. A NETBOOK could literally be folded up and placed in a purse or cargo pants pocket.

However, consumers soon noticed limitations and annoyances about the NETBOOKS. Durability was in question. Cheap production meant a cheap product which easily broke down. Installs of software had to be downloaded or an external drive hooked up to it. The screen was small and especially for older eyes, hard to read and make out was was being viewed.

NETBOOKS were still computers and required all the maintenance of one: anti-virus had to be installed / updated or else it was susceptible for infections by any type of badware. Startup programs had to be monitored to insure "too much junk" was not loading or its already slow boot times would be further impeded. Many programs ran sluggishly, creaking along primarily on ATOM processors. The Windows 7 Starter edition was a crippled version of Windows 7, lacking functions and the ability to run certain programs which ran under "normal" Windows 7, diminishing some of its expected capability.

Though the NETBOOK could be taken anywhere, its optimistic battery times were usually half its advertised rate under real world operations and begged still for the presence of a desk or other table like furniture to set up upon for proper control and use of the cursor.

And then Apple announces the iPAD, a tablet style computer. Tablets existed before and many of them were just morphed Windows machines into the tablet form factor with styluses that often found their way into toilets, sewer grates, and dog maws. And a Windows tablet is typically priced 20 to 30% higher than a corresponding laptop. It seemed a little overkill to check email and web-surf.

Few guessed how well the iPAD might sell. SuperGeeks decried the lack of a true USB port, camera and the fact DOSBoX could not be installed nor a game controller, let alone a boot configuration into Linux. They foresaw little use for such a device and predicted its utter failure. But since its release a little less than a million a month have been selling. Granted the Flash, Python, MySql, sed, XCode, and Linux demographic were entirely ignored; but the habitual e-mailers and Websurfing crowd was not. And especially at these two tasks, the device excelled. Add in some other useful tasks such as e-reading, to include comic books (previously a chore on a PC or even Mac with incessant mouse / key scrolling / zooming and clicking), and some games with various other programs and the iPAD became an overnight sensation.

At once other companies began to announce various tablets of their own. Microsoft and HP each announced products based on Windows 7, but bailed when it became apparent their technology and Windows could not deliver what they originally envisioned. Other companies instead decide to work with the Android OS, already in use on phones and scale-up to tablet seemed much more promising.

This is all fine and good, a summary of this slice of industry from my viewpoint--so HOW does the PAD benefit me?

1.=The iPAD is available NOW (though not on Amazon at a reasonable price YET). Announced products that are canceled or have uncertain release dates are of little use.
2. = The iPAD is unbelievably portable and unlike a smartphone, the screen quite readable.
3.= I have not read a comic book in years. This allows a small collection available at all times.
4.= The entire works of Shakespeare are available FREE in a 1.6 lbs form factor. And the type can be ENLARGED.
5.= Scads of translations of the Bible are available FREE in a 1.6 lbs form factor. And the type can be ENLARGED.
6.= The Quran available FREE in a 1.6 lbs form factor. Jewish friends may be upset because they don't see the Torah's Icon, but remind them the 16 translations of the the Bible's first five books is the Torah. And FREE. Also the type can be enlarged.
7.= If WiFi is there, the WEB is there.
8. = EMAIL is very easily accessed, ALL ACCOUNTS. If one has multiple accounts, the iPADs interface makes it easy to monitor them without going around to various websites to log in and out of them
9.= Drawing / sketch apps allow direct sketching on the screen. Previous technology required cabled Wacom tablets or a Wacomized computer with propitiatory stylus.
10. = Artists often make use of reference material to better paint or draw an accurate representation of an object. Researching on a computer usually requires the expected Google search (or library visit in the olden days). Once an image was found, it had to be added to a paint program, resized and printed out then taken over to the work area. The iPAD allows one to go to Safari, pull up an image, save it, then go into the photo album and resize it for easy display viewing while it is being painted or drawn paint it. Other pictures of various subjects can be switched over to easily. The iPAD's size and the fact it has no spill vulnerable keyboard, makes for an easy unobtrusive. insertion next to an artists work area.

I give the product 5 stars less one for, well I'm REALLY trying to knock it down one star, OK maybe for the lack of a USB port for printing to my non wireless printer, and perhaps some nuanced things like the included NOTES text program--no re-sizable fonts, or that I cannot delete spam without opening the email first. But it is really hard to deduct that star.

"What can't i do?" 2010-09-01
By Felipe Cruz Ferrero (San Jose , Costa Rica)
The topic of my review says it all ,,, I simply can do anything with the iPad, I'm a sys admin and programmer and use vnc and ssh to connect to my datacenter, it's simply awesome. Highly recommend the 3G version, I got a data plan from my carrier in costa rica and adapted the sim to fit the mini Sim slot ... All perfect! No hassles and i got my iPad to work everywhere.

I'm delighted with this device

"LOVE IT!" 2010-08-23
By Robynn (Seattle, WA.)
I do miss FLASH sometimes but all in all this is the best device from Apple. Mine never leaves my side :) I bought the WiFi version and three days later upgraded to the 3G. I like to have the option to use it when I choose and because of the GPS function. I could careless about the absence of a camera. Originally I was going to wait for the second generation but I am so happy with my device.

"I am delighted" 2010-08-19
By R. Smith (MN United States)
When the iPad was first announced in January my reaction was ho-hum. I thought it was just another uninteresting gadget. Then, in April after they were released I tried a couple of them at a univerity and immediately felt that I must have one.

This is the kind of device I have long waited for, a fantastic tool for reading technical manuals and books, access to internet, weather radar, GPS information, e-mail, etc. Having communications available anywhere anywhere I can get wifi or AT&T cellular is more than just a novelty for me, it has become important and useful. iPad is a surprisingly good tool for writing. Some really excellent apps, like the iAnnotate PDF reader, which is vastly better than the Adobe reader (and it allows you to create your own bookmarks and annotations in the PDF.) In summary, the iPad redefines what a personal computer is for me.

Addressing some concerns I and others have had:

1) It requires you to have a PC or Mac so you can initially set it up, and you need to connect to your PC to perform some kinds of operations, like setting up some e-mail accounts.
2) Eye strain has not been an issue for me, and I use it mostly for reading. The display is fantastic.
3) The keyboard seemed at first glance like it would be horrible. This is not the case at all. I am surprised at how good it is, and I can touch type with it efficiently when using the wide screen, or use it in Blackberry fashion when using the narrow screen.
4) There have been some usability issues on web sites because not all of them support the iPad yet, at least not fully. There seems to be an effort afoot to replace Flash with a new standard, but meanwhile many videos cannot be viewed because the iPad does not support Flash.
5) Magazine subscriptions are not widely available for the iPad.
6) I am a life-long "book person", and have had bad previous experience with electronic books and PDF documents. I must honestly say that reading with the iPad has been superior to using a physical book in all ways but one: the ability to pre-read the book quickly, and as I use it more, I think I will find ways to approximate the value of a good preread. It's truly amazing. I have not tried the latest Kindle and similar devices, but I assume they are comparable to the iPad in readability and responsiveness. If you are a book person and resist these electronic gadgets, as I did, I recommend you try one out at a time when you can spend at least 15 minutes with one. It may sell itself when you become familiar with it.

"Not what I expected" 2010-09-22
By Carolyn Evans
I ordered this item to give me a more secure grip on the slippery iPad. This cover does not improve the grip at all, has a smooth plastic feel to the outside. The only texture that would help a grip is on the inside, next to the iPad. I took it off right away and do not use it

This was exactly what i was looking for. Easy to put on. It has a nice secure feel and for the price how could you lose.

"Slow shipping" 2010-09-18

I ordered on 7/26/10 and they shipped out on 8/4/10. If you buy this item from Media-Mart, you have to wait two weeks to get it.

"great fit and no hole + great screen protector" 2010-09-18
By Albeniz (Venezuela)
Got it from "Digital Media Source" seller in amazon.

mine doesn't have the hole in the back some people talks about, maybe other sellers have a different model. mine is exactly like the one in the picture.

The screen protector I got is awesome, don't know how it works but it is not sticky and the screen sucks it on. with it the screen feels exactly as the screen with nothing.

"Huge logo of the seller "Crazy on Digital"" 2010-09-17
By Eric
This could be a perfect case for iPad as other reviews, but the seller print their logo directly on the case, which is about 4x1 inch.

One thing is that there is no cutout on lock button, and iPad could be locked by accident when holding that part.

"Must have" 2010-09-23
By Gonnzo (Colorado Springs, CO USA)
If you have an iPad, you need this. It doesn't just give you a way to get photos into your iPad. There are other, more cumbersome ways but if you don't do it that often then those ways are adequate. No, essentially this gives your iPad a USB port, something it can really use. If you get it, you'll wonder why it's not standard equipment.

Product works fine, but was pretty upset when I went to the Apple store and the same product was $20.00 dollars cheaper.

"Apple IPad camera connection kit" 2010-09-17
By hccsmitch
This is a fabulous addition to the IPad. I used it on my recent trip to SE Asia, where we visited zoo's and jungles. I used 2 GB memory cards and so did others in my group and we uploaded our pictures each day or so directly into the IPad. It uploaded in a very short time. Then we had our own show each evening of everything we had done. We also uploaded video from the memory cards and it worked just perfectly. Don't go on a trip without this!

"Very helpful camera connection" 2010-09-17
By Ibraham
When I travelled I used to take many pictures and this time I wasn't worry about the memory space because in the same time I transferred all the pictures directly to my I pad by using the camera connection, no need to use the laptop, it saves lot of time, it is great.

"IPad camera kit" 2010-09-12
By Jconroad
This product works exactly as advertised. IPad should, however, create an easier medium to delete and/or move photos than syncing on iTunes.

"Just What I wanted" 2010-09-22

Overall this product served it's purpose. it's a case that accurately fits my iPad, although it is a little flimsy. The flimsiness is why I didn't rate it 5/5 it comes over very easily, however everything else is great

"Priced Right, Pretty Good Item" 2010-09-18
By gm4life
My case just came and at its price point I wasn't expecting much... But actually it is pretty good, but certainly not a great product. For the small investment it seemed fine to me. It fit pretty good, not like a glove, and so the product didn't smell like roses but for its low price what were folks expecting? If your in the market for an affordable skin to keep your iPad protected from things its not a bad option. Overall I am pretty happy with the product. If your expecting perfection for under $5.00 go to some retailer and get ripped off for a "good" one. I am glad I didn't.

Very cheap but if you just want a low cost skin, it will work. If it wasn't part of the package I purchased, I wouldn't have gotten this and other than trying it once, I don't use it.

"Good iPad Case" 2010-09-18
By djKianoosh
This is a very affordable case. The leather is pretty good. I was only worried about the inside cover felt/suede, and whether my cats' hairs would get all over it. It's not too bad there. Full leather would probably be best, but really this had the best price out there. It doesn't have a stand like the regular apple case, but I never found that feature appealing/necessary.

"Simple, in a good way" 2010-09-11
By David
I've tried a number of cases and this one is very simple, but works best. I love the look of the iPad, so I did not like the way many cover up the edges. Plus others make it very hard to remove the pad from the case. The only thing that would take this up a notch, would be a slot for a stylus. Not bulking, classic leather texture, unobtrusive.

Purchased as Gold Box deal - very happy. Will stand the ipad in perfect position on the bed, but i haven't tried on hard surface.

"Not elegant but a fabulous value" 2010-09-08
By MICHAEL A WUNSCH
I don't know how you could beat this product for the price. It is wearing well and for $10 you can't do better than this. Yes, its not the most elegant leather cover in the world but for the price, I love it.

"Does the job" 2010-08-30
By Michael Curcuru
It's simple with this review. If you can't tolerate paying Apple's ridiculous pricing do their own accessories then this is your answer. Good build quality for the price. You'll see that one of the elastic corners that hold the iPad in place is slightly near the volume rocker but it's definitely not an issue.

"BULKY" 2010-09-25
By An engineer (California)
I can't understand all the good reviews unless it's the result of employees or hired outsiders posting bogus reviews. This product is bulky, smells of plastic and is clumsy to use. It allows the iPad to sit in the positions claimed, but that's not nearly enough to make it worth carrying around a product several times the iPAD width. This one fills my briefcase and doesn't sit right on the equipment at the gym. The Apple cover is far superior.

"A high-quality product at a great price" 2010-09-23
By IT SuperFreak (San Diego, USA)
It's hard to tell if this case is made of genuine leather or not but the quality of the material is excellent. The suede inside the case is very soft and smooth, and the exterior finish is top-notch. The only minor gripe I have is the case feels "upside-down" when closed; the iPad will be sitting upside-down if you have the button enclosure facing up (same side as the strap). I think the intent was to avoid having the button clasp interfere with the screen when you prop up the iPad with the stand. Overall, it's a great product as a great price; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

"This case is exactly what I was looking for" 2010-09-23
By Beth (Chicago)
I bought this case to protect my iPad and serve as a stand. It does both of things quite well and is an excellent value. I don't think the synthetic leather looks cheap at all.

"Cheap case" 2010-09-22
By Sophia
I don't mind having synthetic leather as long as it looks nice and is a good quality. This was not a good quality case. It was cheap plastic and smelled terrible. It Also had a couple scratches. We returned it!

"Piece of crap..." 2010-09-22
By Mark Geo (Alpine, NJ)
I am compelled to write my first review for an Amazon product because this is absolutely the worst thing I have ever purchased from the web. The quality is so poor that I would be returning it had I paid only $5.00 for it. It has virtually no padding and the ipad edges and corners are vulnerable to damage because the case is slightly smaller then the device it is supposed to protect. The tilt feature is useless because the nubs are not at a steep enough angle.

I could go on with a few more points but I think you all get the idea; don't buy this thing.

I don't know what case I will wind up with and I will update my review when I find something worthwhile.

"A good IPad case...worth the small investment" 2010-09-24
By R. Nicholson
I bought this case at the same time I purchased my IPad. It was highly recommended by the sales staff and although I was somewhat hesitant to purchase it, I did so anyway...now I can't imagine my IPad without this protective case.

This case has a nice snug fit...initially making it a bit difficult to insert the IPad for the first time, but the good thing is, that it tends to make it almost impossible for the IPad to drop out of this case, should it be turned upside down.

Also, I love the tacky feel (almost a suede-like sensation) of the material used in this case, making it very easy and comfortable to hold on to. The bare IPad is fairly smooth and slippery so this jacket provides just the right amount of frictional surface to allow for a secure grip whether your holding the IPad in your hands or have it on your lap. 5 Stars.

Ray Nicholson

P.S.

I believe this product is cheaper priced a the Apple Store.

"Waste of money" 2010-09-24
By Megan Tollison (Kingfisher, Oklahoma)
I purchased my Apple iPad at Best Buy and they recommend buying a case for it, which I do too. HOWEVER, do NOT buy this case. It is flimsy, gets dirty very easily and isn't worth the money. The iPad is hard to get in there and GOD FORBID you actually want to take it out, it's a two man operation. I am returning it and getting the case that matches the one I have for my Macbook Pro, which is by Belkin.

"GREAT PRODUCT............WAY OVERPRICED" 2010-09-19

NICE SNUG FIT. VERY STURDY, WITH EXTRA PROTECTION ON THE CORNERS. MAKES THE IPAD MUCH EASIER TO HOLD, NO SLIPPING IN YOUR HANDS.

YOU CAN BUY A PRETTY GOOD BRIEFCASE OR MULTIPURPOSE CASE FOR WHAT THIS SMALL SLIP COVER COSTS. IF IT WERE $15.00 I WOULD RATE IT A 5.

"Decent screen protectors" 2010-09-18
By djKianoosh
Maybe this is the same with all screen protectors, but it really gets smudgy. So i'm constantly cleaning the screen with some cotton cloth/shirt.. I messed up on applying the first protector, so I wasted one, but it's not that difficult to apply it, and it's pretty affordable.

Its good you get three you need the first two for practice. Once in place it's great.

"Don't buy it" 2010-09-16

I paid but I didn't received yet. I'm still waiting more than 1 month. The seller never response my request.
Just don't buy it. It will be waste of your money.

"Not what offered in terms of shipping" 2010-09-15

I paid for a 24 hour shipping, actually I paid nearly $20 for expedite shipping anf the seller did not sent the product within the time offered and paid. Terrible service!

"It works, but you have to be careful...and CLEAN!" 2010-09-13
By K. Pattison (Kentucky)
These protectors are good protection...and not really anti-glare. The application can be tricky, but I got it on my first try with both this kind and the other, highly similar brand I tried. Getting the screen spotless before you start is necessary and then when you get the thing in place, BEFORE you peel off the second layer of plastic, smooth/chase out any bubbles. It took me about 5 minutes to get the thing on and they seem to last well. They sure do make it easier to keep the oils from fingers cleaned off my screen. The bare iPad screen picks up oil much faster. And I've already had one protector scratched from something in my bag, so they've already more than paid their way because if it hadn't been the protector, it would have been my screen (darn binder clips!). After I got my iPad I wondered if the protector would be needed...now that I've been using it for a few weeks it is clear I'll be keeping these on it!

"Inexpensive Ipad Holder" 2010-09-17
By Richard A. Lickhalter (Malibu, ca)
The leather like holder is functional and good looking. The Ipad fits inside with just a little wiggle room. The ability to have the Ipad stand upright is excellent and the protection to the Ipad case is super good. I find it a worthwhile addition to the use of the Ipad and, for the price, is amazing.

You can't go wrong for the price. Good initial purchase until you know what you might really want and need, that would cost far more.

"ipad case review" 2010-09-13

For ~$10, this is a very good price. The design is somewhat flawed as it covers bottom part of the screen. I need to take out the ipad to use Wall Street Journal app.

Good product, not terribly durable though. I can see the fold letting loose in not too much longer.

"Good for the price; of course it's not leather" 2010-09-12
By C. Cutler (Orlando, FL USA)
I was hesitant to buy this, given all the bad reviews. But I needed a temporary case until I found the ultimate cover. The iPad is too expensive to leave it laying around with no protection.

OF COURSE it is not real leather. It's under $10. ONLY A MORON would really believe they were going to buy a genuine leather case for $7. Come on...... I AM irritated that the seller can't be honest and call it faux (fake) leather or plastic, and that Amazon lets him get away with it, but seriously - it's $7.

That aside - it's actually much better than I expected. I am not in a hurry anymore to find a permanent case, as most of the big-name case makers have real leather cases coming out in October and November. The cover is well padded, providing good protection to the screen, which is the whole point. It works well as a stand, and does a good job of making the iPad easier to hold. They can be rather slippery without a case. I like the snap closure on the front, it's secure. The one thing they sho9uld have done, though, is find a way to secure the top, so the iPad can't come out if you turn it upside-down.

It's still a temporary solution for me - I plan to purchase a good leather case once they start hitting the market. Genuine leather lasts a lifetime. Most of the current "leather" cases are not leather. According to Webster's dictionary, leather is animal skin - PERIOD. All the "eco-friendly leather" babble doesn't hide the fact that they are selling something other than leather. Like it or not, we are a world that eats a lot of beef. The cow skin can be used to make leather, or wind up in a garbage dump. I would rather see it put to good use than wasted - that IS eco-friendly.

My first Apple experience and it has been delightful. It has been the most user friendly device that I have ever used. If I had it to do over again I would have bought the Wifi+3G for increased coverage and versatility.

By Barbara Morefield (HOUSTON, TEXAS, US)
I was introduced to the Apple Ipad by my sister.

I fell in love with it. I haven't turn my desktop computer on for at least three weeks because everything that I used it for I can do on my Ipad. If your haven't purchased one yet, what are you waiting for? You will truly enjoy this. Oh, and by the way, it is very easy to setup and use.

"Good, but ..." 2010-09-16
By Buster Brindle (San Francisco, CA)
I'm liking my iPad a lot more than I thought I would. Reading on it is a pleasure, especially on a crowded train. The New York Times free app has enough stories to get me to and from work, and the ebook reader is quite easy to use. There are a ton of free books out there, mostly books in the public domain, but that's fine with me since I like to read old literature. The music and game apps are numerous and very good. The web is extremely fast and the pad "just works".

On the downside, the iPad doesn't come with a clock or alarm clock utility. You can buy apps written for this purpose, but, since there's no multitasking, you can't depend on them to work. For example, if you have a meeting scheduled, and your alarm clock app set, the meeting notice will pop up and prevent the alarm on the clock from ever going off.

Magazines look awesome on the iPad, particularly Wired and Time. The downside is that you can't buy a subscription and have to pay a very inflated price. Hopefully, this will change in the near future. I wish more magazines were available, and I wish I could get the entire New York Times delivered to the iPad in one fell swoop since I don't have a wifi connection on the subway I ride (the workaround is to go to all the articles before leaving the house, which puts them in a cache for reading later).

Another downside is that you still have to sync the pad to itunes to do any kind of backup or file transfers, and the sync HAS TO be done via cable. At this point, with such a poweful technology, I cannot believe Apple doesn't just automatically sync/backup the ipad wirelessly when it gets near its "mother" computer. Likewise, there should be some way to map the free space on the pad as a drive to transfer files to and from the device.

The glare problem is bad if you're trying to read in bright sunlight, but I read mostly at night in bed and on the subway so it's not an issue for me. The backlighting is actually very nice for reading in bed.

Overall, a very nice device. The screen size is just right to watch movies and TV on the go. Lots of apps are available. The word processor and spreadsheet app (sold separately) are very nice, even if syncing back to a PC or Mac is a bit of a pain.

I've been taking my iPad on trips instead of my laptop PC--it is a good device for travelling and lets me get basic work done (e-mail, web browsing, word processing, spreadsheets).

I'm sure the device will only get better over time.
Please note that amazon's price for the 64-gig model is higher than buying it at the Apple store, even after tax.

"The Future of Mobile Computers" 2010-09-12
By rumseykc
I won a 64G 3G iPad from Rush Limbaugh several weeks ago, and since receiving it I have been absolutely satisfied with handy devise. I now have a reason to put digital copies of movies on an Apple product, surfing the internet while mobile much easier, it's easier to carry around than a laptop... The list goes on and on.

My only complaints so far has been the need for Leopard software on your Mac computers. I only have Tiger so I am forced to use my PC's iTunes. The other is the price. This thing is friggin expensive! Yes I got mine for free, but I wouldn't have paid basically 900 dollars for this tablet.

All in all this things is awesome! I would advise waiting a year or two when they become more common place and cheaper. anyway I give it a 5 out of 5!

Apple iPad Tablet (32GB, Wi-Fi)

Apple iPad Tablet (32GB, Wi-Fi)
Product By Apple Computer     (265 customers reviews)

Technical Details

  • 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology. 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi).
  • 32GB flash drive.
  • Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology
  • Built-in 25-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery for up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music.

Product Description

Apple iPad Wi-Fi is a magical and revolutionary product at an unbelievable price and the best way to experience the web, email, photos, and video. All of the built-in apps on iPad are designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large multi-touch screen and advanced capabilities of iPad. And they work in any orientation. So you can do things with these apps that you can't do on any other device. The high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid. Which makes it perfect for web browsing, watching movies, or viewing photos. With iPad, there is no up or down. It's designed to show off your content in portrait or landscape orientation with every turn. And because it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide viewing angle. So you can hold it almost any way you want and still get a brilliant picture, with excellent color and contrast. The multi-touch screen on iPad is based on the same revolutionary technology on iPhone. But the technology has been completely reengineered for the larger iPad surface, making it extremely precise and responsive. So whether you're zooming in on a map, flicking through your photos, or deleting an email, iPad responds with incredible accuracy. And it does just what you want it to.One of the first things you'll notice about iPad is how thin and light it is. The screen is 9.7 inches measured diagonally. So overall, it's slightly smaller than a magazine. You can use it anywhere. And a slight curve to the back makes it easy to pick up and comfortable to hold. With built-in 802.11n, iPad takes advantage of the fastest Wi-Fi networks. It automatically locates available Wi-Fi networks, which you can join with a few taps. iPad also comes with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, letting you connect to devices like wireless headphones or the Apple wireless keyboard.
