I'm a product design student and the following is my experience of Apples, so called magical ipad.
Worked out of the box(both of the ones I've had), Into a recovery mode loop after updating, even when I replaced an ipad!!! And it was updated by apples own software, with itunes 10 whatever. The fact of the matter is, Apple are selling defective products to whoever gets them at high prices, even my ipod classic has been acting funny, and the iphone 4 is a showcase of how they want to manipulate people and take peoples money, whilst they build their empire. The high reviews are most likely from people who's ipads are working, please take my advice and avoid apple, products, my brothers ipod touch also got returned to the apple store more than 3 times, from what I remember.Your risking your money, when you buy one of their products, will you get what works or not, that's what should be in your mind. It aint magical it's a pain!!! I've wasted over £500 with a case, I will get my money back/sort something, pc world!!!
Don't buy Apple products, if your upset about what I wrote, go into an Apple store and check for the customers returning defective/non working products and count how many throughout the week if you can.
Very upset with a rubbish piece of engineering, don't buy North American products if you can.

I used to disagree with the idea of tablet computers, but after trying the iPad and experience the very sensitive touching technology I'm lovin it :D

I've been using my iPad for past 6 months and to be honest I use it more than I use any notebook. This is the best thing that Apple has made in a long time. It's super easy to use, (if my mom can use it, anyone can) great battery life, amazing apps and games and nice look and feel to it.
The future of computing will definitely not support mouse or traditional screens and interfaces. The future is easy to use touch screen programs that connect to everything around you. iPad is that fist step in that direction.

This piece of technology was designed for simple people who only do simple tasks. This is not a real computer, but a limited entertainment device. The out-of-the-box experience is terrible, with non-intuitive user interfaces that are not documented. There is no instruction manual. There is no file management utilities, and you cannot easily bring in your own files. The power cable is way too short to be useful. The setup for Outlook e-mail does not work, and the Safari operating system is incompatible with my web-based e-mail. It does not allow the user to scroll through e-mail messages, so you end up only being able to read the first part of each e-mail. People who buy this obviously are easy victims of technology propaganda hype.

If I start describing it, there will be no end. I just think the Apple iPad is truly "M A G I C A L". It is an astonishingly sexy, elegant and useful swiss-army-knife.
Buy it without thinking. I suggest the 16 GB with WiFi+3G.
