I've had several people comment on this case. It is very functional and allows me to transport my iPad around securely. I'm not at all worried about it not being protected. I constantly use my iPad within it's case but am very aware that it merely rests on the bumpers and could fall out when the case is open. Still, it works nicely even when using the iPad. The number one function of this case is protection when transporting. Do not expect it to "hold" the iPad within the case when the case is open.
It's an excellent case and am very happy with it. All of my research paid off!

I love the iPad because it is powerful, beautiful, and slim. I could slide it in my bike bag, go for a ride, and read in a park. Sound good? Of course, until it contacted something hard in the bag that hammered it on the edge during a 10 mile ride, wedging the volume switch so it is continually pressed. Bad news. All Apple could do is replace it, for approximately half the cost of a new one. Ouch!
A hard lesson to learn: if I want to take the iPad into the wild, it needs protection.
After a lot of searching, I tried this one. I thought it was too expensive, but of course much less than replacing a damaged iPad.
The real thing I want to tell people looking at photos of this thing, is that the "bubbles" make this thing fat. With this case, no longer is the iPad something that slides in a bag or backpack, taking very little space. This thing is bulky. It kind of defeats part of the elegance of the iPad, but at least I know it will be safer.

Sturdy protection for the iPad. High quality construction. Perfect fit. Worth the high price. It is not a support stand, so don't have that expectation. It is simply a good carrying case.

It's really nice and functional for traveling with iPad. You would need a cover for the iPad itself though.
