"Inexpensive Ipad Holder" 2010-09-17
By Richard A. Lickhalter (Malibu, ca)
The leather like holder is functional and good looking. The Ipad fits inside with just a little wiggle room. The ability to have the Ipad stand upright is excellent and the protection to the Ipad case is super good. I find it a worthwhile addition to the use of the Ipad and, for the price, is amazing.

You can't go wrong for the price. Good initial purchase until you know what you might really want and need, that would cost far more.

"ipad case review" 2010-09-13

For ~$10, this is a very good price. The design is somewhat flawed as it covers bottom part of the screen. I need to take out the ipad to use Wall Street Journal app.

Good product, not terribly durable though. I can see the fold letting loose in not too much longer.

"Good for the price; of course it's not leather" 2010-09-12
By C. Cutler (Orlando, FL USA)
I was hesitant to buy this, given all the bad reviews. But I needed a temporary case until I found the ultimate cover. The iPad is too expensive to leave it laying around with no protection.

OF COURSE it is not real leather. It's under $10. ONLY A MORON would really believe they were going to buy a genuine leather case for $7. Come on...... I AM irritated that the seller can't be honest and call it faux (fake) leather or plastic, and that Amazon lets him get away with it, but seriously - it's $7.

That aside - it's actually much better than I expected. I am not in a hurry anymore to find a permanent case, as most of the big-name case makers have real leather cases coming out in October and November. The cover is well padded, providing good protection to the screen, which is the whole point. It works well as a stand, and does a good job of making the iPad easier to hold. They can be rather slippery without a case. I like the snap closure on the front, it's secure. The one thing they sho9uld have done, though, is find a way to secure the top, so the iPad can't come out if you turn it upside-down.

It's still a temporary solution for me - I plan to purchase a good leather case once they start hitting the market. Genuine leather lasts a lifetime. Most of the current "leather" cases are not leather. According to Webster's dictionary, leather is animal skin - PERIOD. All the "eco-friendly leather" babble doesn't hide the fact that they are selling something other than leather. Like it or not, we are a world that eats a lot of beef. The cow skin can be used to make leather, or wind up in a garbage dump. I would rather see it put to good use than wasted - that IS eco-friendly.
